In a world where companionship is essential for social connection, the experience of interacting with others can often be hindered by the limitations of traditional furniture. On a one-seater couch, for example, companions find themselves dragging chairs closer to engage, only to be separated by armrests that create a physical barrier. This separation restricts the opportunity for genuine connection, both socially and physically.

Inspired by the need for more meaningful interaction, I set out to design a sofa that encourages closeness and bonding. By reimagining the armrest, I created a piece of furniture that allows companions and individuals to sit together comfortably, fostering connection and reducing the physical distance that typically exists between them—perfect for moments of shared conversation and closeness, even in a limited space.
